  1. Cross-County Skier Junior National Qualifier

    January 21, 2017, 9:00 AM - January 22, 2017, 3:00 PM @ Birkie Trailhead

    The top 12-20 year-old cross-country skiers from around the country will compete for a spot at the Junior National Competition. Races will consist of interval start classic and mass start freestyle of varying lengths.

    NASTAR (National Standard Racing) is a great opportunity for participants of all ages to race a giant slalom course and compare results to others in their age category across the nation. Participants ages 12 and under race free thanks to generous support from the Rychel family. NASTAR is open to Alpine Skiers, Boarders and Telemark Skiers. Racing NASTAR is a great opportunity to have fun in a non-competitive atmosphere. Accumulate points all year because awards will be given at the end of the race season to the top three racers in each age group. Bring a friend and challenge each other for the fastest time every Sunday all season long at Mt. Ashwabay!

    This long-running program is for youth ages 6-14 years. Volunteer instructors work closely with students and parents to instill a love of skiing and snowboarding. At the heart of the program is family involvement. Parents are encouraged to volunteer as coaches, and in doing so learn skills they can carry forward and use after the program.   2. Business On Stage-"Expertise for Starting or Growing Your Business"

  4. Master Gardener Training Course

    January 25, 2017, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Northland College

    The course will be held over eleven training sessions between January and March at Northland College, Larson-Juhl Center for Science and the Environment Room 236. Achieving Master Gardener Certification requires attending all the training sessions, passing the final exam and completing 24 hours of volunteer service within one year of completing the training course. Enrollment for the class is limited to 30. Registrations are due by January 9, 2017

  5. 4-H Youth Archery for Ashland & Bayfield Counties

    The 2017 Winter Youth Archery is open to youth registered in a 4-H Club in Ashland or Bayfield Counties and are in the 4th - 12th grades. Archery 1 is from 6 pm - 7 pm Archery 2 is from 7 pm - 8 pm (Archery 2 is only for 4-Hers who have taken Archery 1 before) Certified instructors will teach archery safety and proper shooting techniques, as well as, lessons on equipment and maintenance. All equipment is provided - or bring your own. Archery 2 will cover more advanced shooting techniques and mental discipline for those who are ready to take their shooting to the next level.
