North Country National Scenic Trail
A portion of the 4,600-mile North Country Scenic Trail passes through Bayfield County where an excellent backwoods hiking experience awaits those with a spirit of pioneer adventure. This 61 mile section of the North Country National Scenic Trail traverses the northern half of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. The North Country National Scenic Trail heads through the Rainbow Lake and Porcupine Lake Wilderness Areas.
