    May 8, 2020 - June 7, 2020

    Admire over 50,000 blooming daffodils, a vibrant mosaic of roadside lupine & rolling orchards of apple blossoms bursting into rosy color during our month-long celebration of spring. Special events include a live WPR Broadcast of Garden Talk with Larry Meiller and a Garden Expo at the historic Lakeside Pavilion in downtown Bayfield, Garden Tours and the annual Blessing of the Fleet. Bayfield in Bloom runs from May 8 through June 7, 2020.

    FREE!! Shuttle to Big Bay State and Town Park Experience what visitors have called “the best beach in northern Wisconsin” at Big Bay Town Park! Picnic area with covered pavilion, fishing and canoe rentals. Bridge spans beautiful lagoon. Leave your car on the mainland. FREE shuttle service to Big Bay Town and State Park offered between 10:30am and 4:30pm on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7. Pick up location @Madeline Island Museum. Last shuttle will leave the Town Park at 4:45 pm & State Park at 5:00 pm. Open House at Big Bay State Park Explore Madeline Island’s natural beauty while enjoying outdoor fun at Big Bay State Park with FREE vehicle admission. Located 6 ½ miles from downtown La Pointe, Big Bay State Park offers seven miles of hiking, boardwalk and natural trails, beach access, picnic areas and camping.

    History comes to life with the traditional Blessing Ceremony: commercial fishing boats, tugs, powerboats, sailboats, excursion and transportation craft, and rowboats parade through Bayfield's City Harbor. As they pass by the tip of the pier, clergy from the Apostle Islands community grant each vessel a blessing for safe passage and a prosperous season on Lake Superior.

    Make Music Chequamegon Bay will be a multi-city and town festival that will take place from 2-7pm with a FREE Grand Finale Community Sing-Along event at Big Top Chautauqua: “Big Top Big Sing” 7:30pm Our 2020 inaugural celebration happens to land on Father’s Day this year, and will be happening in Ashland, Washburn, Bayfield, Red Cliff, Bad River, and Cornucopia. Parks, porches, sidewalks, parking lots, and business fronts all over our area will be filled with music being played and/or sung outside and under awnings. People may find themselves serenaded by a guitar soloist, or a choir, a rock band, or an accordion group, some flute players, a barbershop quartet, a string ensemble, a mass guitar band, a drum circle – or maybe even ukuleles or kazoos! Solos, duos, trios, quartets etc…The possibilities are limitless. Residents (and visitors) are invited to travel around Chequamegon Bay to see and hear their neighbors play and enjoy live music!

    Novice and experienced bicyclists ride a scenic mix of paved roads past farmland, forest, lakes, gently rolling hills, vistas and views of Lake Superior. Choose loops of either 13, 19, 34, 40, 52, 70 or 100 miles. This ride is fully supported with maps, support vehicles and food and beverage stops en-route. At the finish line, there is more food, music and fun! This is a ride, not a race -- great for families and individuals.
